Navigation stack for all the Object types

By Prasanna, Infosys

Introduction:

All the Object types that you created in program are automatically recorded by the system on navigation Stack.

Ex: In Programs, classes, screens, function modules etc

This allows you a constant overview of where you are and what you have done during your work.

Use:

You can use this navigation stack to return to particular object within the same session.

How to display Navigation Stack:

Choose   from the application toolbar to display navigation stack

Ex. To show navigation stack in programs

Create a simple program through transaction SE38

And Choose  from the application toolbar which is highlighted

Then the navigation stack is displays a list with the navigation steps in a separate window area

Here all the details like type of the object (i.e. Program, screen or include etc.), name of the object, sub object name and Line number etc.

If you double click on those, it will go to that particular object or component and display the information.

And also you can use the navigators  (for displaying preceding object),  (for displaying next object)

Note: The navigation stack is not stored permanently; it is deleted when you leave the Object Navigator. And also there is a separate navigation stack for each internal session.
