Does a Smart Form generate 2 function modules?

We are all aware that when a smart form is activated, a function module is generated. But are you aware that a Smart Form can generate 2 function modules?

The information regarding the Smart Form and the corresponding function module(s) is stored in the database table STXFADMI.

From the above screenshot, it can be observed that 2nd and 3rd fields are for storing the function module numbers.

Let us have a look at the table entries for one of the SAP delivered Smart Forms:

Now let us see when and how these function module numbers are stored:

Scenario 1:

Create a dummy Smart Form with a simple text as shown below:

Save and click on Activate.

On the menu bar, click on Environment -> Function Module Name

Now go to the database table STXFADMI and check for the entry of this Smart Form:

You can observe that the field FMNUMB is filled with the function module generated.

Scenario 2:

Create one more Smart Form as in scenario 1 (do not activate):

Save and click on Execute. The following screen appears:

Execute the Function module. The output is:

Now go to the database table STXFADMI and check for the entry of this Smart Form:
