5.4  SAP PI Configuration – ID

In Integration Directory we will configure the Interface Send_Sourcing_Request. Using traditional methodology we need to configure following objects in Integration Directory.

Import Business Systems to ID (SRM, ERP).

Create Receiver Communication Channel with XI Adapter pointing to SAP SRM.

Create Configuration Scenario with Process Integration Scenario as ES Repository Model.

·         Receiver Determination.

·         Create Interface Determination.

·         Create Receiver Agreement.

Interface Determination.

Here we don’t need to provide any operation mapping, as both sender and receiver Services Interfaces have the same Message Structure.

5.5  Systems Communication with PI

ABAP Proxy is one of the most remarkable forms of communication between SAP application system and SAP PI. Proxy provides both asynchronous and synchronous mode of communication. In order to utilize Proxy the application system should have WAS > 6.20. Proxies are used to connect the application system to the PI system. The role of Business system at the application side is Application System and that at the PI side is Integration server.

ERP will send Sourcing Request data to SAP PI, using a HTTP protocol. This is instead called as XI Adapter in PI terms. PI receives data using XI adapter (HTTP Protocol) and processes in its Integration Engine for determining the Receiver System (SAP SRM), and Receiver Service Interface determination. PI then sends Sourcing Request data using Receiver Service Interface without any data conversion to SRM using XI adapter (HTTP Protocol).

For this communication to happen additional configurations need to be done in ABAP stack of SAP ERP and also SAP PI.
